The majority of the news in this edition comes from IBC 2006 and we'd like to welcome those new subscribers who signed up at the show. Other IBC 2006 news appeared in our previous edition. Attendance rose to 44,808 - 5% higher than last year, and there were plenty of new developments in the mobile TV space, including the IBC's own, which gave visitors the chance to make the news. At the other end of the spectrum, NHK demonstrated ultra high definition television to packed audiences.

For those who missed the announcement, our new HD Kit Guide is now available. It covers professional production and post production equipment, from HDV through to uncompressed HD. The new edition of the DAW Buyers Guide is also now available.
