News FORscene enables 'mobile' reporting with upload and edit functionality for mobile phone stills and video (26/9/2005) Forbidden adds upload and edit functionality for mobile phone stills and video Video streaming specialists, Forbidden Technologies, today announces the launch of a new function of its FORscene web-based editing and publishing system - the ability to upload video and stills from mobile devices directly to FORscene's platform, where they can then be edited and published. "This mobile upload functionality opens up new opportunities for broadcasters," said Stephen Streater, CEO of Forbidden Technologies. "Video images taken on mobile handsets are increasingly appearing as part of news reports - due to the immediacy and ease with which footage can be shot. There are many other potential uses. For example, checking the length of a voiceover is as simple as talking into a handset and uploading. We see this as an exciting extension to FORscene." The service is available to all Symbian phones with a Forbidden player - which can be received via Bluetooth or downloaded over GPRS. This new application was previewed at IBC in Amsterdam in September 2005 and has attracted significant interest from news agencies and broadcasters.
