News Doremi Labs Introduces New Dual-Channel Playback Option for V1-HD Video Server (13/3/2006) Doremi Labs introduces simultaneous dual-channel playback option for the V1-HD high definition video disk recorder. The V1-HD's new dual-channel playback provides for locked playback of two HD-SDI video streams. This makes the V1-HD an ideal playback device for 3D Video, Super-widescreen and Vidoe + Key applications. Video material can be recorded in one of three ways; simultaneous recording of both video streams, recording the two video streams in two separate passes, or by transferring TIFF files via Ethernet to the V1-HD. In addition, 4k resolution playback is now possible with just two synchronized V1-HD decks. Two V1-HD Servers can play back 4 streams of 2k resolution video to a 4k projector such as Sony's new SXRD. The V1-HD is ideal as a playback device for large screen presentations, digital cinema and other high-resolution display applications. Dual-channel playback requires the purchase of the dual-link option. The dual-link option also provides for 4:4:4 color space recording. HDTV's high resolution demands a large amount of storage. The V1-HD features selectable JPEG2000 video compression up to 300Mbs. JPEG2000 video compression helps to preserve the quality of the video image while significantly reducing storage requirements. The V1-HD is housed in a compact 3RU chassis with up to two removable hard drives. A single drive can provide approximately 4 hours of storage at 160 Mbs.
