Digital Ordnance debuts new version of Frame Thrower 2K playback system at NAB (2/5/2007)

Digital Ordnance will be previewing the next version of the company's highly successful Frame Thrower (tm) in the Ciprico Booth in the South Lower hall (SL 9628) 9628). Frame Thrower(tm) is a network attached 2K playback system designed to integrate smoothly into a facility's DI or visual effects production work flow. Users employ a web browser at their desktop to load content on to the Frame Thrower(tm), which saves time and increases productivity. Frame Thrower(tm) supports Windows, Mac, and Unix file servers with its built in Gigabit Ethernet, or can be configured with higher speed interfaces, such as fiber channel, Infiniband, or 10 Gigabit Ethernet for maximum performance to servers or a SAN.

Company CEO & Founder Daryll Strauss comments, "We're really happy to be included in the Ciprico booth as a technology application partner and we're also pleased to be providing a Frame Thrower(tm) system to Christie Digital who have chosen to use it as a playback system for their booth, matching Frame Thrower's high quality output with Christie's excellent projectors. For Digital Ordnance, NAB will be the debut for some of the new powerful Frame Thrower(tm) features that will be included in the release later this quarter. Some of the features in the new release include, reading JPEG2000 images, mask overlays, zoom rectangles, A/B clip comparisons (window, split screen or wipe), dynamic play list editing, MPEG proxies and automatic slate generation. Everything we've included is a result of customer feedback we've received so I'm absolutely certain that both our present and future customers will be happy with what they see"

Strauss continued, "Typically our clients use Frame Thrower(tm) in three major areas; Review and approval for visual effects and animation, client presentations, and screening of digital dailies. Frame Thrower(tm) has many features available during playback to enhance these processes, such as viewing individual color channels, vari-speed, pan, zoom, color correction and more. Our rationale while working on the next software version was to enhance the Frame Thrower(tm) by allowing it to be even more flexible, while retaining our core focus on providing a reliable uncompressed 2k play back system that's very easy to use."

The next version of Frame Thrower(tm) is set to ship within this quarter.
