EVS Presents Clips Import Plug-In Application in Final Cut Pro Station (10/4/2008)

EVS has announced that the new EVS Media Importer application will be presented exclusively at NAB 2008 in Las Vegas.

EVS Media Importer is a new EVS plug-in application directly available from the Apple Final Cut Pro File/Import menu. It allows the import of any clips available on the EVS XT[2] production server to be made directly available for editing.

All clips and files can be easily researched thanks to an intuitive thumbnail interface and list views that include EVS keywords, and selected content can be imported by a simple drag-and-drop action in the Final Cut Pro media bin. Clips are imported in QuickTime and QuickTime Reference formats. Using QuickTime Reference movies, files being transferred are immediately available for editing without having to wait for the process to finish. Thanks to the XT[2]'s native support of the new ProRes 422 and ProRes 422HQ codecs, HD clips and media can be imported without requiring any transcoding.

Pierre L'Hoest, CEO of EVS commented: "Thanks to the recent addition of the gigabit Ethernet connection to our XT[2] production server, all clips and recorded media can become easily and instantly accessible from multiple devices, which allows drastic improvement in the production process. The XT[2] is the only platform to allow six recorded feeds to be simultaneously available on craft editors. The new EVS Media Importer is further proof of the innovative ability of EVS technology when it comes to accelerating media availability for multiple applications."

EVS Media Importer will be available for preview exclusively at NAB 2008 and is part of EVS' forthcoming further integration with third-party post production tools, such as Apple Final Cut Pro. EVS Media Importer will be presented exclusively at EVS' booth at NAB 2008 (C4911).
