News S.two announces global agreement with ARRI Sales (15/9/2008) Camera manufacturer to sell S.two uncompressed solution for filmmakers S.two Corporation, known for its comprehensive range of uncompressed field recording products and elegant workflow solutions to speed the material through the post environment, has announced a worldwide agreement with Arnold & Richter Cine Technik GmbH & Co. Under the terms of the agreement ARRI Sales companies globally will be able to sell S.two uncompressed filmmaking solutions to accompany film style digital camera sales. "We have already received a substantial order commitment from ARRI and our products are included in the latest ARRI D-21 camera price list," commented S.two president Chris Romine, "We have also received orders from several ARRI companies worldwide including CSC in New York and ARRI Media in the U.K. ARRI GmbH Munich has purchased products to be used in their R&D area as well as a complete workflow package for demonstration purposes." The two companies' close collaboration on uncompressed workflows yielded several significant advancements over the past 12 months; bolstering ARRI's flexibility in providing adaptable products for differing production requirements and budgets. Last year's IBC introduced increased integration between the ARRIFLEX D-20 film style cinematic camera and S.two's DFR2T and Take2T uncompressed digital field recorders; making them the first recorders of any kind to support every mode of operation offered by that camera. In April 2008, S.two announced they were first to earn the ARRIRAW T-LINKT Certification which was granted to the company's full range of recorders as well as its ingest and archive docking stations. This proprietary uncompressed raw data link sends raw 3K resolution Bayer pattern data direct from the new ARRIFLEX D-21 film style digital camera to an attached DFRT (Digital Film Recorder). S.two DFR recorders receive this signal and provide real-time de-Bayer to HD-SDI conversion; the HD-SDI is then fed to monitors for viewing in EE and live modes-while recording as well as during instant playback. The Bayer data is recorded in its raw original quality in DPX frame wrappers. S.two plans for IBC 2008 will see the company's products on the ARRI stand (Hall 11, Booth 11.F21.)
