Fairlight previews XML support for Final Cut Pro file deliveries (29/6/2009)

Fairlight AU Pty Ltd, a company providing workflow solutions to the Broadcast, Film and TV industries, will debut support for drag and drop of Final Cut Pro XML files directly to the timeline of its Pyxis-MT, Xynergi and Constellation XCS products.

As part of its comprehensive workflow toolkit for film and television post production, Fairlight has been adding video capabilities for many years, lately achieving a truly integrated platform for simultaneous multi-track audio and HD video in a single PC.

Final Cut XML import is an important milestone for the company, which aims to solve customers’ format headaches with a near-universal file exchange platform. Using the new software, customers can achieve in seconds the complex translation process that formerly took hours and involved complex manipulation.

Fairlight CEO John Lancken welcomed the new software release, pointing out its importance to the industry. “Final Cut Pro has achieved astonishing growth in the film and video industries over recent years, to the point where almost every facility must handle its output on a daily basis. Our job is to make transitions between different products as smooth as possible so that our customers can spend more time on the creative and skilful aspects of production. They love the feeling of confidence that clients can walk in with almost any kind of source material and load it up seamlessly and efficiently.”
